Likeness and consent

A person's name, face, voice and story belong to them, and after they die, to the people who loved them. HELAÜLOOM exists to honour that, so we hold everyone who posts to these rules.

Pages for someone who has died. Make one only if you knew them, they have died, and you have the right to share their name, likeness and story. Before every page you declare this, and we keep a record of it.

Never for someone living without their written consent. Their own page is theirs to make.

Photographs, video and voice. Post only what you took, were given, or have permission to use. Never use someone's likeness or voice to make them appear to say or do what they did not, including with AI.

It is the law, not only our rules. Using a person's name or likeness without the right to can break right-of-publicity, privacy, defamation and copyright laws, and impersonation can be a crime. We may share our records with the person affected, their family, or the authorities.

If your likeness, or someone you love, is misused, use “Something not right with this page?” at the foot of the page, or write to legal@helauloom.com. We act promptly, and close family can ask for a page to be handed to them.
